Counselling

As per CBSE guidelines any school which is affiliated with CBSE has to appoint a Counselor. Counseling is designed to facilitate student achievement, improve student behavior and attendance, and help students develop socially. With master’s degrees or beyond, school counselors both provide counseling and serve an educational role in and around schools. Many schools have full-time counselors on staff in order to support students who are experiencing personal or academic challenges, help students choose careers and plan for college, and intervene when students face behavioral, physical, or mental health challenges.

Duties of School Counselor:

  1. Providing instruction on psychological and social issues.
  2. Vocational guidance.
  3. Counseling.
  4. Early intervention
  5. Special needs services

Further, Counselors Often Help Students:

  1. Maintain academic standards and set goals for academic success.
  2. Develop skills to improve organization, study habits, and time management.
  3. Work through personal problems that may affect academics or relationships.
  4. Improve social skills.
  5. Cope with school or community-related violence, accidents etc.
